On a deeper level, self care can be broken into three different components: The first and arguably most important step is to begin paying attention to your feelings, your body, and especially to the way you talk to yourself. Physical self care involves activities that improve your physical health such as diet and exercise.
They can, though, support you in helping. It is time we stopped looking at this practice as a luxury. Since life is multidimensional, we must address each part to form the whole: We live in a busy, demanding world that requires a great deal of resilience to keep us from burning out.
They can’t “fix” you or your pain or stress or “make” you feel better. The physical, the spiritual, the emotional and social. When you successfully maintain healthy emotional boundaries, you are taking care of yourself first and foremost.
